Your emotional health........

Depression
What it is and advice on how to deal with it .
Eating disorders
Identifying the symptoms and getting help .

Up to ten per cent of people with an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia are male, and the cause is unknown. Researchers have suggested that they stem from the pressures of a weight-conscious western society, family or relationship problems, and physical and neurological changes in susceptible people. It seems likely that several factors are at work.

Identifying symptoms
One of the main problems in eating disorders is 'body image disturbance' or dysmorphia. The illnesses cause a person to have a very inaccurate perception of their own shape and body weight.

Asked to stand beside a door, for example, a man with anorexia might think he 'blocks out' the whole doorway because he is so overweight; looking at his thin forearm and bony hand, he might think he is covered in unsightly fat.

Research has suggested that male bodybuilders might have similar kinds of body image disturbance to that experienced by people with anorexia.

To confirm the diagnosis, the patient must, mistakenly, think they're too heavy, and be dieting to lose weight. People with anorexia usually have a body mass index of less than 17.5.

Other ways of trying to lose weight include:

excessive exercise
extreme 'fat-free' diets
making yourself sick after meals
purging with laxative and diuretic drugs

Some people with diabetes or thyroid problems manipulate their medication to promote weight loss.

Although anorexia means 'loss of appetite', people with anorexia are often very hungry - and may have a strong interest in watching others eat, or in helping to prepare their food.

Bulimia shares the body image disturbance of anorexia, but people with this condition are more likely to be of normal weight, and binge eating and purging is more of a problem than dieting.

Living with an eating disorder
The consequences are serious. Not only is it difficult to maintain a normal social life, but the illness often causes intense family upset, and it's not easy to remain fit and alert at work.

The body's systems have to work hard to adjust to the changed metabolism caused by abnormal diet, and dangerous changes can occur - particularly when people are making themselves vomit.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists factsheet lists some common problems.

How to get help
Treatment needs to be long term, and is best carried out by a psychiatrist or psychologist. Some drugs, such as 'SSRI' antidepressants can help, particularly regulating binge eating.

Obsessive-compulsive behaviour
Sometimes negative or worrying thoughts can take over.
Stress
It's the curse of our modern age, so how do you deal with it? Suicide
What are the risk factors?
Some ways to cope with stress:

Accept offers of practical help
Do one thing at a time - don't keep piling stress on stress
Know your own limits - don't be too competitive or expect too much of yourself
Talk to someone
Let off steam in a way that causes no harm (shout, scream or hit a pillow)
Walk away from stressful situations
Try to spend time with people who are rewarding rather than critical and judgmental
Practise slow breathing using the lower part of the lungs
Use relaxation techniques
.

One response to stress can be anger. Find out more about anger management.

Totally engrossed in the real love of God

Totally deep in the touchable love of God....
We can spend many years of our lives out of place--trying to be accepted by the world, burdened by insecurities, buried in guilt, and full of emptiness in our hearts--or we can live a life of supernatural peace in God's presence.
If we lack the understanding of who we really are in Christ, we will walk around with an orphan spirit, but God has adopted us as sons and daughters. We are children of a great and mighty God; It's just that some of us do not realize this truth.
As you may know from previous articles, I have lived for years under the spirit fear and it was not until I was immersed in God's love that the burden of fear was lifted off of me. It was one of the first days that I got to experience constant peace. It was the day God let me feel His love for me.
We should know that it is when God reveals His perfect love to us that we are able to really love both ourselves and others unconditionally. After all, God Himself is the definition of Love. "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love" (1 John 4:8).
“I remember the first time I was knowingly immersed in the Love of God. My entire being was consumed with the love of Father God. I was one of many in an outside congregation of people attending The Call DC on August 16, 2008. I was freely dancing in uninhibited, abandoned worship to God and as I danced, I began to feel wave after wave after wave of the Father's love filling me and totally consuming my entire being.
After that encounter, I noticed that I had a deep love for the people around me--even the ones I did not know-- It was the love of God coming through me. As a matter of fact, I saw a girl bowing on her knees with her head to the ground praying and I just felt compelled to go up to her and tell her, "I love you." That is the pure love of God. He had just baptized me in His love and now I had plenty of His love to give away. I became totally fearless in love.

Love and marriage was supposed to be forever.

When we are single we are so jealous of the couples we see on the streets but as soon as we manage to get a partner, the single life starts to call for us again.

Why?

The first reason to break up is jealously. We always fear our partner is going to leave us or is already sleeping with someone else. This is out biggest thought and the nightmare that keeps chasing us day and night. How do we get rid of it? If you cannot trust your partner with your life or you cannot trust her 100% percent just drop her like a stone. She is not worth a single second of your life. You are wasting time with her that could be much better spent with another great girl.

The second reason is money. When you are living with your couple, 70% of arguments will be about money according to Dale Carnegie Book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. If you both cannot manage your money together, you are in serious trouble. One possible solution might be frequenting a seminar about that.

Third reason is the bad sex. If you cannot satisfy your partner sexually or if she cannot satisfy you, you will end that relationship soon or later. Reading a good book or teasing your partner might help it

Forth and last reason is the past. What you partner had done in her past will be something she will carry with her forever and you too and there is no way around.

If your partner was engaged in drugs, prostitution or assaults, you know you will always be one step back with her and always fearing she will lower herself again.
Love looks ideal, but only on the other side of the barrier.
When you cross the river, the green land turns dark, and the land you left, turns green.
